Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do the funds come from to operate the Community Center?

Approximately 38% of the operating income is derived from rental income, 29% special events income; 26% from grants, 7% from public donations.  We do not receive any funds from the Borough budget.  We are not a line item in the Borough budget as the Curwensville Library, Irving Park, S.P.C.A, etc. are.

What are the Community Center's Office hours?

The Center is open for scheduled events and by appointment only; however, general information and rental inquiries are handled by the Rental Coordinator.  He can be reached by calling (814) 236-3797 or by email at info@curwensvillecommunitycenter.com.  The best time to call is Monday through Friday 10:00 – 7:00 p.m. and weekends 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Where do I park when I come to the Community Center?

The Community Center offers two parking lots located on each end of the building, curbside parking in front of the building, and overflow parking in the adjacent field next to the  Curwensville School District foot ball stadium and softball field.  Stadium Drive is non residential street serving the Community Center, the Curwensville School District, and one other municipal facility.

Besides rental usage, what other events happen at the Community Center?

The Center is home to numerous club meetings such as the Curwensville’s General Federation of Women’s Clubs, Curwensville Boys and Girl Scouts; , Curwensville Little League,  Clearfield Senior Environmental Corporation, Clearfield County 4H Beef Club, the Curwensville Days Committee, Curwensville Losers are Winners, and Curwensville Quilting Club.  In addition, the Center offers a weekly spaghetti dinner on Thursdays, a children’s Halloween Spooktacular for area kids, and the first Saturday of December is the Community Center’s Christmas tree decorating and light up night for the Curwensville area.  The Center is also Curwensville Borough’s designated polling location for Federal, State, and Municipal Elections.

Is it expensive to rent the Community Center for an event?

Not really.  We have cost comparisons of other rental facilities within Curwensville and nearby areas within Clearfield County and we are actually the least expensive; especially, when you consider the equipment, WiFi, and free parking without additional charges that cost extra at most other facilities.  View our rental rates.

Can I take a tour of the center?

Absolutely!  We would love to show you around.  We welcome individuals and groups to come and tour our facility.  Simply call (814) 236-3797 and ask for David.
